Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By creating an Examinex account, attempting online MCQ exams, using Examinex AI study coaching, interacting with Telegram bots, or using instructor tools, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Welcome to Examinex: These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "User", "Student", or "Instructor") and Examinex.lk ("Examinex", "we", "us"). They govern your access to our online examination engine, AI personal tutor, past paper library, Telegram bots, and instructor portals.
User Agreement

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

By registering on Examinex.lk or using any associated mobile bot, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Student Eligibility

Students preparing for the Sri Lankan G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) or Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations across Science, Commerce, Technology, and Arts streams may register. Students under the age of 18 represent that they have obtained parental or guardian consent.

Instructor Eligibility

Educators, tuition masters, and academic institutions registering as Instructors must provide accurate pedagogical credentials and submit to administrative identity verification.

Accounts & Access

2. Student Accounts & 5-Exam Free Trial

To access full examinations, each student must create an individual account providing authentic details, including mobile number, email, examination year, stream, and home district.

2.1 5-Exam Free Trial

Every newly registered student profile is automatically credited with 5 full practice examination attempts for free. This trial allows students to evaluate our timer engine, answer reviews, and Study Coach prior to purchasing a membership.

2.2 Account Security & Non-Sharing Policy

  • You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and password.
  • One User per Account: Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Sharing credentials with other students to pool examination attempts or exploit leaderboard positions is strictly prohibited and results in immediate account suspension.

3. Online Exam Engine Rules & Anti-Cheat

Examinex is engineered to replicate real examination hall conditions. When taking timed online examinations, the following rules apply:

Server-Authoritative Timers

All examination timers run securely on the Examinex backend. Closing your browser tab or disconnecting your device will not pause the countdown timer.

Dynamic Question Shuffling

Questions and answer options are randomly ordered per attempt to prevent concurrent peer-to-peer screen copying.

Prohibited Assistance

Using unauthorized third-party answer bots, browser automation extensions, or script scrapers during examinations will trigger instant disqualification.

AI Tutor Terms

4. Examinex AI & Personal Study Coach Guidelines

Examinex AI serves as an intelligent supplementary revision assistant, formulating study timetables, explaining complex MCQs step-by-step, and identifying weak syllabus topics.

Educational Guidance Notice: Examinex AI is designed to support your revision. While our AI algorithms are calibrated to the official Sri Lankan national syllabus, it is a complementary tool and should be used alongside official school textbooks, past papers, and teacher instructions.

Acceptable Use of Examinex AI:

  • You may query the AI for question clarifications, step-by-step mathematical workings, organic chemistry mechanisms, and revision timetables.
  • You agree not to submit abusive, harmful, illegal, or harassing prompts to the AI assistant.
  • Automated prompt spamming, jailbreaking attempts, or extracting underlying system prompts is strictly forbidden.
Mobile Bots

5. Telegram Quiz Bot Usage Terms

Examinex provides access to Telegram bots for mobile revision. Use of our official bot (@examinexQuizbot) or teacher-connected bots requires compliance with both Examinex Terms and Telegram's Terms of Service.

  • OTP Account Authentication: Linking your Examinex account requires generating a single-use 6-digit OTP code on the web portal. Never share your OTP with other users.
  • Timer Synchronization: Telegram quiz timers run on the Examinex server. Timed responses submitted after expiration will not be credited.
  • No Spam or Automation: Using automated Telegram userbots to submit lightning-fast answers is treated as a security breach and will permanently ban the linked student profile.

6. Instructor & Tuition Teacher Terms

Teachers who register to publish exam papers, manage batches, or deploy custom Telegram bots agree to the following obligations:

Content Quality & Ownership

Instructors retain copyright over their original questions and notes, but grant Examinex a non-exclusive license to host and deliver these exams to enrolled students.

Instructors may only access aggregated analytics of students attempting their custom papers and agree not to harvest or misuse student phone numbers.

Subscriptions

7. Memberships, Subscriptions & Payments

Examinex offers paid student memberships for unlimited examinations and advanced AI features, as well as individual tournament competition tickets.

Tournament Entry Ticket LKR 300 / entry Single competitive tournament admission (requires active membership and 1 ticket).

Payment Processing:

  • Online Card Payments: Processed instantly and securely via OnePay PCI-DSS Level 1 certified gateway.
  • Direct Bank Deposits: Requires uploading a clear photo/PDF of your bank deposit slip. Activation occurs promptly following manual staff verification.

Competitions

8. Examinex Tournaments & Cash Prize Awards

Examinex hosts scheduled island-wide competitive examinations with cash prize pools.

Tournament Rules: Tournaments run when the minimum participant quota (100 students) is met. In the rare event a tournament is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, student ticket credits are automatically refunded to the student's wallet balance.

Prize Disbursement Policy:

  • Winners are determined strictly by verified score and completion time under strict server-side anti-cheat verification.
  • Cash prizes are disbursed directly via Sri Lankan bank transfer to the verified bank account of the winning student or their registered parent/guardian within 7 business days following official result audits.
  • Any candidate caught utilizing multiple devices, proxy test-takers, or external answer aids is immediately disqualified with forfeiture of all prizes.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

The Examinex name, logo, examination software, user interface design, AI prompt frameworks, and curated question databases are the exclusive intellectual property of Examinex.lk.

  • You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access study materials and examinations for individual educational use.
  • You may not scrape, copy, redistribute, sell, or publicly re-publish Examinex questions, marking schemes, or software without prior written permission.
  • Official Sri Lankan Department of Examinations past papers hosted in our Resource Library remain the property of the Department of Examinations and are provided for educational review.
Platform Safety

10. Prohibited Conduct & Account Termination

Examinex maintains a zero-tolerance policy for activities that compromise platform security or educational fairness. You agree NOT to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access to our servers, databases, or API endpoints.
  • Deploy automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract questions or automate examination submissions.
  • Upload defamatory, obscene, infringing, or malicious content through instructor portals or review forums.
  • Impersonate another student, teacher, or Examinex administrator.

Examinex reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts found violating these rules without refund.

Legal Limitations

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Examinex provides examination preparation tools on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime and rigorous question accuracy:

  • Examinex is an independent educational revision platform and does not guarantee specific individual letter grades or university placement in national examinations.
  • Examinex is not liable for temporary service interruptions caused by local internet outages, power failures, or third-party telecommunication downtime.
Jurisdiction

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Sri Lanka.

Summary of Your Agreement

1. Individual Academic Use

Accounts and 5-exam trial credits are strictly for individual student revision and cannot be shared or resold.

2. Academic Integrity

Server-side timers and anti-cheat mechanisms ensure equal fairness across all 25 districts.

3. Responsible AI Practice

Examinex AI is a personalized educational coach for conceptual understanding, problem breakdown, and revision timetables.

4. Transparent Terms

Affordable subscriptions, secure OnePay card processing, and clear tournament prize disbursement standards.
