Our Story

How Examinex came to be

From a frustrated A/L student's side project to Sri Lanka's fastest-growing exam prep platform — here's the journey.

2023 · The Problem
A student couldn't find good practice resources
Our founder was preparing for his own A/L exams and realised there was no single place to practice real past-paper questions with instant feedback online. Scattered PDFs, no analytics, no mobile experience.
The Spark
2023 · The Launch
Examinex.lk goes live with 3 subjects
The first version launched with Physics, Chemistry, and Combined Maths — just 500 questions and a simple quiz engine. Within 3 months, 150 students had signed up and were practicing daily.
MVP Launch
2023 · Growth
Expanding to 20 subjects & 5,000 questions
Student feedback drove rapid expansion. We added Biology, Commerce, Arts stream subjects, and a full analytics dashboard. The team grew from 1 to 4 people. Active users crossed 300.
Rapid Growth
2024 · Telegram & Pro
Telegram bot & Pro plans launch
We launched the Telegram bot so students could practice anywhere, and introduced Pro and School plans. The question bank crossed 13,000 questions across 30 subjects. Student reviews averaged 4.8 stars.

2026 · Today
689+ active students, 30 subjects, still growing
Examinex now serves students from Jaffna to Galle. We're working on AI-powered adaptive quizzing, more languages, and offline mode. The mission hasn't changed — make A/L preparation accessible to every Sri Lankan student.
